If you are not in foster care or if you were and your case is now closed, you may be eligible to receive CalWORKs.
CalWORKs is a welfare program that gives cash aid and services to eligible needy California families. There are time limits as to how long you can receive funding from CalWORKs.
The program serves all 58 counties in California and is operated locally by county welfare departments.
The eligibility rules take some time to understand, and there are restrictions. The Public Counsel Guide to Teen Parents To Welfare and Health Care Programs explains the requirements. You can apply in person or on-line.
